Mini Belgian Waffles

Teeny Tiny Smuccies™ Sweet Strawberries are bursting with delicious flavour! If you own a waffle iron, this recipe delivers an authentic result. Make these mini waffles ahead of time and freeze for a quick reheated breakfast treat.

  • Waffle Batter:

  • 1¾ Cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar

  • 3 eggs separated

  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or vegetable oil

  • 1½ cups homo or 2% milk

  • Garnish:

  • 2 cups Teeny Tiny Smuccies™ Sweet Strawberries (whole or sliced)

  • ** serve with maple syrup

  • Sift dry ingredients together into a medium sized a bowl, making a well in the middle. Add egg yolks, milk and melted butter or oil, mixing gently until combined.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until stiff then fold into the batter until blended.

  • Preheat waffle iron.

  • Using a ladle, spoon batter into center of waffle iron and close lid.

  • With each waffle, the timing will become evident (2-3 minutes).

  • Top each waffle with Teeny Tiny Smuccies™ Sweet Strawberries (plus berries of your choice) and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
